My work evolves from wonder. Each piece is an exploration. Some manage discovery.
The suppleness and modesty of water media and collage appeal to me. I favor work that reveals large truths on an intimate scale.
After a decade in high tech, I attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Textile design led to hand-painted fabrics, led to stitched wall pieces. Impatience combined with increased confidence moved me at last into collage and painting. Recent teachers include Lisa Daria Kennedy, Emily Hirtle, Marcelo Daldoce, Ed Praybe, and Mark Daniel Nelson.
I lead art classes for adults, including residents in long-term care. Adult students bring bravery to every class. Making art together, we share challenge, accomplishment, and peace.
