When you look at this painting, you fall up into a world of spring dawn, into morning full of soft pinks and pale greens, with a soft breeze blowing. Expressionistic marks at the bottom suggest grass at your feet, while loose brush work describes the landscape as it ascends to the horizon. Pale clouds blow across the sky.

This painting grew out of my longing for the outdoors, a hunger intensified by the great COVID lock-down of early 2020. The colors grew were fed by memories of walking around Fresh Pond in Cambridge Massachusetts in spring.

Hang this piece in a bedroom or on your office wall, wherever you need a breath of fresh air. Every time you look at it, you will feel warmth of the sun and remember that waft of the hope that comes with the spring.

This piece is painted with archival acrylics on 6x6” acid-free hardboard. It is varnished sealed for UV protection. It is sturdy enough to prop up by your computer or in a bookshelf, or you can hang with a simple Command hook. If you want to frame it, it will look especially handsome in an off-white or natural wood floater frame. It ships unframed, for free.

If you’d like to discuss framing options, feel free to contact me.
