Where I Want To Be
Where I Want To Be
This small painting of a lake adds a breath of fresh air to your office. Look at its textured pinks, greens and blues, you will feel transported to the shore of a lake on a brisk day. Rich green grass grows at your feet. Pink – Roses? Sand? – lead your eye to the wave-tossed water. White clouds scuttle across the sky. Looking at this painting, with its soft colors and gentle texture, you feel carried to summer, on a day when the wind is fresh and everything is fine.
This painting draws on memories of Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, where I spent long summer days as a child, climbing rocks, picking blueberries, and watching the birds as time glided past.
Put this painting in your office next to your computer. Look at it and imagine the sound of the waves, the cry of gulls, the smell of the breeze.
Like all my work, this painting is created with archival acrylic, sealed for UV protection. It is unframed, painted on 6x6” acid-free hardboard, so it is sturdy enough to prop up wherever you need to see summer. It would look excellent in a floater frame or could be mounted on the wall with a Command hook.
A floater frame for panels works best with these pieces. You can also hang them unframed using Command hooks. I’m happy to provide links for frames and can recommend an independent framer if you live in the Boston area.
